Nose Job Costs: What You Can Expect To Pay For A Nose Job

The costs of cosmetic and/or corrective nose surgery, often referred to be the medical term of rhinoplasty, varies depending on a number of factors. Major factors influencing nose job costs are the region, skill of the doctor, complications, and the type of nose job one is receiving. Nose job costs can be anywhere from around $3500 to nearly $20,000 before complications are factored into the equation.

Nose job costs can be influenced dramatically by the location of the facility in which the rhinoplasty is to be performed. A rhinoplasty in Los Angeles is likely to be markedly more expensive than one performed in Little Rock. Contributing to this is the fact that some areas have both a high population density and a sizable demographic both inclined and financially capable of using surgery as a form of self improvement. High quality surgeons are attracted and actively recruited to such areas which further drives up the price one can expect to pay in these regions.

Quality surgeons can be found in other areas as well, which may make a clinic in Tennessee comparable in price to another in Los Angeles. Highly qualified surgeons are also the only ones typically qualified to offer corrective rhinoplasties, which is to say that they are the only ones that can fix another surgeon’s mistake. A corrective rhinoplasty can nearly double the cost one can expect to pay for a nose job.

Furthermore, nose job costs are also influenced whether or not they are ‘open’ or ‘closed’ in nature. Open nose jobs involve visible scars which will usually fade in time, while closed nose jobs typically leave scars only on the interior of the nose where they can go unnoticed. Closed nose jobs cost less, but are not suitable for all types of correction. For minor corrections closed rhinoplasty may be an option, and is approximately 10-15% cheaper than an open rhinoplasty. This delta may represent only a few hundred dollars for initial nose jobs, but in the case of revision rhinoplasty the difference is typically a thousand dollars or more. It is also worth noting that just because an initial nose job was closed in nature does not mean that a revision nose job will be closed in nature as well, though it is entirely possible.

Complications can also influence nose job costs, but they are fairly rare. Adverse reactions to anesthesia is not uncommon, and can result in a delay to the surgery. In many cases the insurance policy covering the clinic will kick in and offer to pay in exchange for an agreement not to legally entangle the insurer and/or the facility and its staff. One should also in lost work after the nose job into the total cost as it is unlikely that one can return to their daily activities for a while.
